Introducing the TCC-EZ Total Contact Cast System- Large Boot Addressing the needs of the larger, heavier patient

MedEfficiency is pleased to announce the new Large Boot designed for use with the TCC-EZ Total Contact Cast System. The Large Boot features a wider and longer sole than the Regular TCC-EZ Boot to accommodate bigger and taller patients. The TCC-EZ Large Boot fits men with a shoe size of 11.5 to 17 Wide and women with a shoe size of 10 to 17 Wide. In contrast, the TCC-EZ Regular Boot fits men with a shoe size of 6 to 11 and women with a shoe size of 5 to 9. The Large Boot is also designed to support patients up to 400* pounds dependent on activity level, whereas the Regular Boot can support up to 275 pounds for an active patient.
Additional features of the TCC-EZ Large Boot include specially designed Velcro® straps for ease of adjustment and pronged side strut paddles which lock the cast and boot together for optimal off-loading when the larger, heavier patient ambulates.
The TCC-EZ System addresses many of the reasons that wound care centers and clinicians do not use the gold standard TCC. The TCC-EZ is faster to apply and less technique sensitive than our traditional Total Contact Cast System or other total contact casts. The system provides a patented innovative fishnet mesh cast technology to construct a one layered cast, supported by an exclusively designed outer shell that provides additional support and stability for the diabetic foot ulcer patient.
The total contact cast, in conjunction with comprehensive wound care protocols, provides a dynamic approach to complete immobilization, which allows the tissue to heal without being disturbed or traumatized by repetitive injury or shear forces. The TCC is changed on a periodic basis to address the dynamic nature of the patient’s lower extremity and for wound inspection/debridement.
