ManukaMed Ltd Receives HCPCS Coding for MANUKAhd Line of Honey Dressings

    ManukaMed USA (Largo, FL) applied to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for coding reconsideration and received favorable HCPCS coding for it’s MANUKAhd line of Advanced Wound Honey Dressings effective May 22, 2015.  PDAC (Medicare Pricing, Data Analysis and Coding) reconsidered MANUKAhd dressings and assigned HCPCS codes consistent with A6196 and A6197.  ManukaMed is currently the only company with honey wound dressings assigned reimbursable HCPCS coding.

     MANUKAhd dressings are an extension to the already popular MANUKAhd Lite line of products. MANUKAhd has an increased amount of absorbency and honey delivery.  These dressings are expected to have a significant impact in situations where a longer interval between dressing changes is required such as in homecare and outpatient wound clinics.
